(by jennifer and heidi, twins of the black forest...)
spirited fingers play the clouds into oblivion. nothing existed as we ran toward the receding light. only the sound of lost hopes and the shape of half-remembered dreams. fearing the worst, the dew was wrung from natural cloth to make an elixir for the gods. this was the reason for night and day-- to produce droplets of fiery earth water. this is consumption of eternity. the goblet shines from time to time, and then we have to leave. we would be welcome to stay, but i don't like to dance and you don't like to sing. so we tumble into the night, with angel wings dyed black. taking flight into condensed sky, and forsaking the past and future. now is the time to travel back-- just give me one chance, a flickering lamp, and a scene. when the day comes, i'll say my goodbyes and bow to uncertainty. blowing a kiss to the deadness of the night, all ceased to exist. not even this.
