i finally got around to watching daisies, and all i can say is... it's official: i'm totally in love with czech new wave cinema. first i saw valerie and her week of wonders, then a bunch of jan svankmajer (check out alice for the darkest version of alice in wonderland you've ever seen), and now this... all of them are favorites forever.
this spanish trailer only hints at daisies' stunning visual effects (filmed in 1966!):
i cannot recommend it more highly! see it!!!

aw, thanks... i love when that happens! i just had a similar experience last week when i stumbled across an image i first saw over 10 years ago. it's haunted me ever since, but i never could figure out how to hunt it down. it was the best feeling to find it again!
as you can tell, i fell off with updating this blog some time ago. i can't bring myself to take it down though...
